Biography
ACC ICF, MA (Psych Coaching), Assoc CIPD
As a coach, Barbara enables adults with long-term conditions (and their families) to live meaningful and satisfying lives within the realities of their conditions. She has conducted research in this area for a MA in Coaching Psychology.
Barbara also leads the Transverse Myelitis Society, a UK charity that provides information and support to people living with Transverse Myelitis and related rare neurological auto-immune conditions.
Her prior career was in learning and development in professional services in the UK, Central & Eastern Europe and Kazakhstan where she partnered with the business at operational and strategic levels to develop bespoke department and firm-wide interventions.
Barbara’s inspiration for this work comes from the belief that it is possible to live a full and meaningful life within the realities of a long-term condition, serious illness or injury.
This belief is based on her own experience recovering from Transverse Myelitis, supporting a loved one through their health challenges, and how her professional background in adult learning and development and coaching have helped in all of this.
