Biography
Tim is co-founder and co-director of Rising Minds, a social enterprise providing life coaching and mindfulness training in a range of settings, including to those on a low income. He came to interpersonal work first as a mediator, then as a coach and a mindfulness trainer – after 13 years’ communications and project management experience in the private and voluntary sectors. Tim holds a First Class BA Honours degree in Classics from Oxford University.
Tim’s working style combines warmth and sensitivity with robustness and clear insight. This enables clients to relax into the work, gain quick insights into themselves, and take courage to get into action. His particular strength is in working intuitively with what’s alive for people in the moment, helping them to access deeper drives and values and then to work creatively with them.
Tim has pioneered the fusion of coaching and mindfulness techniques, developing an integrated programme, initially for third sector organisations and their clients.
Tim’s qualifications and experience include:
- Coaching: Associate Certified Coach with the International Coach Federation (ICF) – the leading worldwide professional coaching body; Diploma in Business and Executive Coaching from Coaching Development; 500+ hours of client coaching hours
- Mindfulness. Mindfulness Teacher Training Retreat run by the Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice at the University of Bangor; daily practitioner of mindfulness meditation – a key factor in being an effective mindfulness trainer
- Conflict resolution: Certified workplace mediator (National Certificate in Workplace Mediation); trained community mediator with Common Ground Mediation Service
